Muslims Flee Buddhist Attacks in Myanmar

Sectarian violence led by Buddhist mobs is spreading across central Myanmar, prompting many of the minority Muslim population to flee for their lives. On Friday, Buddhists ransacked a store owned by the town of Sit Kwin's last remaining Muslim. "We don't know where they are," said taxi driver Aung Ko Myint, 24. "He escaped this morning just before the mob got here." Myanmar is predominantly Buddhist. Around five percent of its 60 million people are Muslims. The unrest has made almost 13,000 people homeless.
