Mike Patterson, the 43-year-old Georgia man who drew national attention after diving into a creek to save a four-year-old girl, has died. Patterson severed his spinal cord earlier this month diving into Euharlee Creek in Rockmart to save a girl who was being swept away. His own 9-year-old son witnessed the accident. The girl survived. A Friends of Mike Patterson Facebook page drew 71,000 likes.
