Right-wing talker Glenn Beck believes the United States is one of the "lost 10 tribes of Israel" and is now suffering calamities just like ancient Israel because of our disobedience to the laws of God. Beck took viewers of his Internet TV show into a biblical history lesson dating back to the time after King David of the Old Testament, when the Kingdom of Israel became divided. "There's strong symbolism with the number 13 being represented everywhere: 13 arrows, 13 stripes, 13 stars, 13 olives," he said of the presidential seal. "What else is 13? Twelve disciples surrounding Jesus, but more importantly, I think, the 12 tribes of Israel."
