Rafael Cruz, an evangelical minister and the father of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), has called his son a "political savior" who can free the country from the "outright Marxist" President Barack Obama. Rafael Cruz said during his son's presidential campaign that Obama "seeks to destroy all concept of God," and he urged a crowd to send the president "back to Kenya." The elder Cruz is a pastor of the Purifying Fire ministry who often speaks to Tea Party and Republican groups on his son's behalf.
