Cancer Cow Beef: It's What's for Dinner

Rancho Feeding Corp., the Petaluma, Calif., slaughterhouse that not long ago recalled 9 million pounds of beef, is under criminal investigation for slaughtering and selling meat from dairy cows suffering from cancer, the San Francisco Chronicle was told by anonymous sources. Rancho was allegedly buying up cows with eye cancer, chopping off their heads so inspectors couldn't detect the disease and illegally selling the meat, the sources said.
