Glass on Chicago's 103rd-Story Skydeck Cracks

The transparent glass floor of the Willis Tower's 103rd-story overhanging Skydeck Ledge attraction appeared to crack to the point of shattering last night in front of horrified tourists. Alejandro Garibay, his brother, and two cousins were in the glass enclosure that juts out of the west side of the building shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday when they heard cracking. They thought it was cracking under them, but officials said it was just the protective coating. "This coating does not affect the structural integrity of The Ledge in any way," said publicist Brian Rehme.
