No Punishment for Police Who Shot Dog, Lied About It

Two police officers in El Monte, California, walked into a family's yard past a "Beware of Dog" sign, fatally shot the family's two-year-old German Shepherd and changed their story of why it happened after learning a video existed of the incident. "Police said the officers shook the gate and proceeded cautiously only to be set upon by the dog. The video shows a very different scene," writes Jonathan Turley. The officers' actions were cleared by police, with Chief Steven Schuster stating there were "no sustained policy violations found."
