Parrot Zik 2.0 Bluetooth Headphones Trim Down and Smarten Up

It can be hard to look cool or even stylish when you’re wearing giant headphones on your ears, but that doesn’t stop electronics manufacturers from making them or consumers from buying them. Two years ago Parrot sought to raise the headphones (or "cans") bar with its Zik Bluetooth headset and subsequently sold 200,000 of them worldwide.



Devised by legendary French designer Philippe Starck, Zik featured a lot of curves, faux leather, gesture control and NFC tap to pair technology. Overall, they were gorgeous and, at $399, expensive.


Now Parrot has unveiled the second generation of Zik, known, naturally, as Zik 2.0. While Starck's new design maintains the headset's signature curves, it also cuts down on the exposed metal and replaces the metal that does shine through with lightweight aluminum.
