Cops Pose as iPhone Thieves to Thwart Black Market

In tech hub San Francisco, Calif., police say that nearly half of all the city's robberies last year involved smartphones. But instead of focusing on the stolen supply, the city's police department is going after the demand: middlemen who might buy stolen iPhones from thieves and then resell them on the black market.


The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) is reportedly using a number of undercover cops to pose as resellers of stolen iPhones, as further explained in the video above.
