The co-creator of The Simpsons never imagined he would earn tens of millions of dollars from the show's royalties when it launched in 1989, but as Sam Simon, 58, faces a terminal illness, he's giving nearly all of his money away. When he was diagnosed with stage-4 colon cancer five months ago, Simon was given three to six months to live. He has decided to focus his remaining days on his philanthropic legacy by leaving most of his fortune to the causes he cares for most. "One thing is, I get pleasure from it," Simon told Hollywood Reporter. "I love it. I don't feel like it is an obligation."
