Manning Not Guilty of Aiding Enemy

Army Pvt. Bradley Manning has been acquitted in a military court of the most serious charge against him, aiding the enemy, but found guilty of five counts of espionage. Manning released hundreds of thousands of classified documents to WikiLeaks, but Col. Denise Lind ruled he did not aid the enemy, a charge with a possible punishment of life in prison. The potential sentence for those charges exceeds 100 years. The "aiding the enemy" charge was unprecedented in a leak case.
