How NOT to Get Elected in Wisconsin

After a news story brought up his 2008 misdemeanor plea on a charge of animal mistreatment, a county supervisor in Wisconsin posted a comment on Facebook reminding people that a state senator ran over and killed his granddaughter. "It's funny how they never bring up Dave Hansen murdering his grandchild though," wrote Jason Wisneski. "That was an accident too, but when you [sic] a rich, liberal and well-connected you can cover that up." He later apologized. Wisneski served three days in jail after his cat suffered four broken legs and was euthanized. He claimed it was an accident. Hansen accidentally backed over and killed his 23-month-old granddaughter with his car. "It is something we live with as grandparents everyday. It's almost 7 years -- it will be 7 years in July when we lost Elliana -- and something you remember of every second of every day," he said, adding that Wisneski's comments make him "question where the civility is in government."
