Internet lag is an annoying thing. Now, Swedish broadband provider Ume.net used virtual reality headset Oculus Rift to show how bad lag would be if it were a part of your offline life as well
In April 2014, Ume.net set up an experiment called "Living with lag," in which four volunteers were going through their daily activities using Oculus Rift combined with a Rasperry Pi, a webcam and noise canceling headphones. The combination simulated lag — either a 0.33-second delay, or a 3-second delay
The result is a pretty hilarious video ad showing "lagged" folks stumbling around like zombies, fruitlessly trying to follow an aerobics class or play ping pong. The point is clear. "You wouldn't accept lag offline, so why do it online?" asks Ume.net Read more...
