Backpack designer Bill Ostrom and a team from Queen's University in Ontario, Canada have created the Go Kin Pack, a portable phone charger that's powered by the energy you create while walking
The concept targets hikers and those who might not have access to an outlet to charge their phone in remote places. The user plugs their smartphone into a USB port inside the fanny pack or backpack and simply walks to charge it. But there's a catch: the 2.6-pound charger connects to two cords that ultimately wrap around the ankle or hook onto a shoe. This is how the charging device gets its energy. Read more...
