Both the iPhone and iPad sales are down from the previous quarter, but this marks the first time the iPad has seen a yearly decline in sales, a 14 percent decrease YOY. Cleaning Startup Homejoy Opens An Office In New York City

Homejoy offers its home cleaning services in more than 30 North American markets , but it managed to expand without opening any offices outside of its San Francisco headquarters — until January, when it opened an office in New York City’s financial district. It’s been almost exactly a year since Homejoy launched its services in the Big Apple , following the same system it has used in other geographies — a network of contract cleaners overseen by on-the-ground city and regional managers. That approach makes for “an effective business model” by keeping costs relatively low, said Danny Rueda, the company’s northeast regional manager. However, this presents challenges when it comes to giving those managers “a connection to HQ, a connection to the company.” So one of the main purposes of the New York office is create “a hub” where Homejoy city managers across the northeast can meet up and share tips and experiences. Matthew Fleischer: The decision by activists not to include leniency for previous offenders in the Colorado marijuana ballot initiative (even if it would have been good policy) made perfect political sense. It's far easier to sell voters on the financial benefits of creating a lucrative new marijuana industry than it is to persuade them to open up the prison gates and set convicts free. In most of the world, however, no such political calculus is required. ... [T]he United States is one of only 22 countries that doesn't guarantee what's called "retroactive ameliorative relief" in sentencing. Which means that when a law such as one legalizing marijuana is passed in America, those already convicted of marijuana crimes don't automatically have their sentences relaxed. This puts us in the company of such bastions of social justice as Pakistan, Oman and South Sudan.

Jennifer Lawrence and Other Celebs Hacked as Nude Images Circulate on the Web

A major trove of celebrity images, some including images alleged to be actress Jennifer Lawrence nude, began spreading all over the web and Twitter on Sunday evening Early word of the images began spreading on 4Chan earlier in the day, where posters claimed that the images were the result of a hacker intrusion on a number of iCloud accounts and that the images included nude celebrities such as Victoria Justice, Emily Browning, Kate Bosworth, Jenny McCarthy and Kate Upton However, at least one of the alleged victims of the hack has taken to Twitter to dispute the authenticity of the images.
