Stories of COVID-19 survivors suffering from symptoms months after their initial illness are spurring researchers to investigate post-recovery conditions. These survivors have been dubbed as long haulers and researchers say they’re not sure yet if long haulers will fully recover. 49-year-old Amanda Thebe, a Houston-based fitness trainer, caught coronavirus in early March. Her case was a mild one and she rode it out at home. “Probably the reason I never got hospitalized is because I could fight it. I did have a good immune system,” said Thebe. However, 15 weeks later, she was still suffering from symptoms her doctors couldn’t explain. Her main infection is gone but something as simple as a short walk can put her out for days. “What happens then, I get severe chest pain. I lose my voice, which you can hear a little bit now. It becomes raspy, really shallow breathing, shortness of breath, bad cough and the fatigue is incredible. I usually end up going back to bed for two or three days,”...

Google's Bet On Native Client Brings Chrome And Google+ Photos Closer Together

Google is betting big on photos on Google+. Indeed, most of the innovation on the company’s social network so far has been around photos, including the #AutoAwesome launch at I/O . Last week, Google stepped up its efforts and launched a set of new photo-editing tools, including the ability to fine-tune Google+’s Auto Enhance feature, apply new filters and selectively adjust parts of an image. Just like the rest of the Google+ photo tools, these new features are a step ahead of the competition, but there’s also an issue: they only work in Chrome (and in the native iOS and Android Google+ apps). The reason for that is simple: the new tools use Google’s own Native Client technology that no other browser vendor has adopted. Fortified's 'Indestructible' Bike Lights Guarantee Anti-Theft Protection

Cyclists who ride between dusk and dawn know that a sturdy bike light is key for safety. To address this need, a group of self-proclaimed "bike geeks" has designed what it is calling "indestructible" lights Fortified Bicycle Alliance is a team of students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Georgia Cops Tased Man 13 Times for Not Walking

Police in Georgia fired a Taser at a man 13 times and caused his death in April because he refused their orders to walk, a new lawsuit has revealed. Gregory Towns died after he was repeatedly Tased by East Point in an effort to make him get up and walk after a chase. "This is a direct violation of their own rules," said Chris Stewart, the attorney for Towns' family. "You cannot use a Taser to escort or prod a subject. ... He wasn't cursing. He wasn't being abusive. He was saying, 'I'm tired.'"
