Mayor Kicks Out Man Who Won't Stand for Prayer

At Thursday's meeting of the Winter Park, Florida, city commission, Mayor John Rees ordered an atheist in attendance to stand up for the religious invocation and then told him he could either stand up during the Pledge of Allegiance or be escorted out of the meeting by police. "[I'm] asking you to either stand or please be escorted out [as we do] the Pledge. It's just not fair to our troops and people overseas, sir," Rees told the man, who was forced by police to choose and left the room.
