Watch the Empire State Building's Fourth of July Light Show

During yesterday's 4th of July celebration, NYC's Empire State Building had another chance to show off its new lighting system. The LED lights, first showcased in November 2012 , were created by Philips Color Kinetics. The system can display 16 million colors, and is capable of showing effects such as ripples, cross-fades, sparkles, chasers, sweeps, strobes and bursts. Alabama Church Billboard Quotes Hitler

An Alabama church bought a billboard that pictured five smiling children beneath a quote from Adolf Hitler's 1935 speech on the Nazi youth movement: "He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future." After the sign generated controversy, Life Savers Ministries founder James Anderegg told the Ledger-Enquirer newspaper, "We are pulling the billboard and certainly never intended to cause confusion."

Newly Discovered Water Mite Named After Jennifer Lopez

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Pop singer Jennifer Lopez may be thinking life is funny after a group of scientists named a water mite in her honor after discovering a new species near Puerto Rico. The music of the Bronx, New York-born entertainer, who has Puerto Rican roots, was a hit with the group while they wrote about their findings, biologist Vladimir Pesic said in an email Wednesday. Google Now Update Adds More Entertainment And Travel Features To The Android Personal Assistant App

Google has added a half dozen new travel and entertainment features to its personalised search app Google Now , aiming to capture the attention of the real-world consumer, such as a sports fan watching an NCAA football game, or the recently-landed tourist trying to find their rental card. Like Twitter , Google is drawing on a lot of evidence that indicates people are increasingly consuming entertainment — TV or otherwise — while tapping away on mobile devices to get more information and connect with other viewers. TMZ Has Photos of an 'iPhone 6' (Because Why Wouldn't They?)

Yes, folks, celebrity gossip and sometimes hard-ish news site TMZ got its hands on photos of what looks like an Apple iPhone 6. On Friday, the site, best known for breaking celebrity news, waded deep into nerd culture and unveiled a collection of images that may be of the rumored 5.5-inch (or 4.7-inch, it's hard to tell) iPhone 6 See also: Report: New iPhone to Have Sapphire Screen, Higher Price The phone was allegedly smuggled out of a Foxconn factory in China, where Apple's iPhones are manufactured, and was photographed by a friend of an ex-factory employee.
