Despite that black eye, Amazon plans to continue on with its smartphone project, according to Fortune
Amazon's senior VP of devices, David Limp, told the publication it will launch new updates to the Fire phone's software to make it "better and better." He noted that the first version of the Kindle e-reader wasn't received well by critics either, but it later evolved into a successful product
Limp added that the Fire Phone's price point ($199 for 32GB; $299 for 64GB) was mostly to blame for sluggish sales. Read more...
