Following a week of sometimes violent protests after a St. Louis County grand jury decision not to indict officer Darren Wilson for the shooting death of Michael Brown, Wilson has formerly announced his decision to resign from the police department
Wilson's attorney, Neil Bruntrager, confirmed the decision, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch
"I, Darren Wilson, hereby resign my commission as a police officer with the City of Ferguson effective immediately," reads Wilson's resignation letter, provided by his attorney to the newspaper.
