June 2015 – JAPAN – A powerful earthquake hit a small chain of islands off the coast of Japan on Tuesday. There is currently no threat of a tsunami, officials said. The U.S. Geological Survey listed it as a 6.3-magnitude quake that struck about 154 miles from Chichi-shima, Japan, which is about 550 miles south of Tokyo.
