Stan Lee gets his first video game starring role

Legendary super-hero father Stan Lee is famous for his cameos. Now, he's getting his chance to play a starring role in Stan Lee's Hero Command , an upcoming mobile game for iOS and Android. Lee's Pow Entertainment is collaborating with game producer F84 to create Hero Command . Players pick one of three brand new superheroes in the brawler-style game, but of course the get their marching orders from Lee, whose likeness and voice appear in the game. Man in Italy Adopts Cats -- for Food

Authorities in Italy said a 50-year-old man posed as a cat lover to adopt more than a dozen cats he would kill and eat. The animal welfare organization Aidaa said the man adopted at least 15 cats over the course of several months from multiple Brianza province shelters and raised suspicions among officials when he offered excuses for avoiding routine checks on the welfare of the adopted cats. Aidaa President Lorenzo Croce said the man adopted "black cats with specific characteristics. They had to be around 3 years old, and quite plump."

A Poppy for Every Fallen Allied WWI Soldier

In honor of fallen soldiers from the World War I, artist Paul Cummins is creating a ceramic poppy field in the middle of London, England. Cummins project, titled "Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red," involves creating 888,246 poppies, each representing a the death of one member of the allied force. The poppy is particularly significant as it was a symbol of the end of the war . After the winter fighting of 1914-1915, spring saw a large number of poppies bloom over areas that were previously battlefields. Later, Moina Michael would turn the poppy into the symbol of remembrance for World War I. With the help of volunteers, "planting" the flowers the project is slated to be finished by Nov. 11 to mark Armistice Day, the day when Germany and the Allies signed a cease fire to end the war Read more...
