The new Lidl store on Aungier Street in Dublin’s city center has some unusual features, glass floor displays provide an insight into the the past of the ancient site. The walls of a Hiberno-Norse Dubliner’s house from the 11th century can be seen under the largest glass section, these people were effectively the ancestors of the Vikings.
Another glass floor section parallel to the checkout, houses the remains of an 18th century Pit Trap from the Aungier street theatre.
